The Aura is Friday Pickleball's control-first Gen 4 foam paddle, built to make improving players better, faster. How it plays

Friday make an unusual claim for the Aura: four types of foam in one core, which they say is a first in pickleball. An EPP foam centre sits inside a horseshoe EVA ring, their patent-pending ElasTECH internal perimeter weighting system runs between the two, and a separate throat foam tunes the feel where your hand meets the face. Their promise for the stack is elite control, massive dwell and a sweet spot that covers the entire face. That is Friday's engineering pitch rather than our playtest, and our own Aura and Aura Pro review is where we weigh it properly.

What the shape gives you is the easy-handling option in the family. The hybrid swings quicker to the ball than the elongated Aura, which is what fast hands at the kitchen actually feels like on court, and the carbon-fibreglass face sandwich trades a little of the raw-carbon fizz for a softer, more honest response on resets and drops. The face still tests at 2,293 RPM of spin, so shaping the ball is not the compromise it once was on control paddles. It is USAP certified at PBCoR .43.
