How it plays

Friday's own pitch for the Aura Pro is refreshingly blunt: loud, poppy and explosive, built to drive hard, counter fast and finish points. The construction backs the talk. The core is a fully floating EPP foam wrapped in Friday's patent-pending ElasTECH internal perimeter weighting system and surrounded by EVA foam, then double-thermoformed for durability, which is how a foam paddle ends up with this much pop while keeping a sweet spot that reaches toward the edges. Reviewers at Pickleball Effect describe the result as a polymer-like foam power paddle, meaning it keeps some of the crisp, familiar response of a traditional core rather than the mushy feel some foam builds can have. The elongated shape is the aggressor's version: 16.5 inches of reach, swing weight 116 for plow-through on drives, and the trade is a twist weight of 6.0, so it asks for cleaner contact than the hybrid Aura Pro. The face tests at 2,295 RPM of spin, and the paddle is USAP certified at PBCoR .43 for tournament play. If your game is more resets and placement than putaways, the softer standard Aura is the control side of the same family.
