Overview
The Cannon2 M1 is the second-generation Cannon, and Luzz put the upgrade exactly where paddles wear out. The Aero-9966™ coating does not sit on top of the carbon fibre face, it penetrates into the weave and bonds the fibres back to the core, so the grit that generates your spin stays sharp instead of polishing smooth after a season of hard hitting. Pair that with high-density stabilising weights at both edges of the frame and you get a paddle that holds its friction, its stiffness and its pop far longer than the price suggests.
How it plays
Elongated, 16mm, swinging at 122, so it sits at the heavier and more planted end of the Luzz range. That mass is doing real work. The perimeter weights widen the sweet spot sideways and stop the head twisting when you catch a ball off centre, which is precisely what falls apart in a fast hands battle at the kitchen. Drive it and the face is genuinely stiff and quick. Reset with it and you will need to be deliberate, because this is not a soft paddle. It suits a player who already swings with intent and wants the ball leaving in a hurry.
Approval status
Luzz lists the Cannon2 M1 as dual-certified by both UPA-A and USA Pickleball, making it eligible for PPA, APP and MLP events. UPA-A governs professional play (PPA Tour and MLP); USA Pickleball is a separate body governing amateur and club play. Approval lists change, and Luzz model naming varies between listings (Cannon, Pro Cannon, Cannon2 M1), so check the current UPA-A and USA Pickleball approved paddle lists for your exact model before sanctioned play.
