Luzz Inferno2 M1 Dawn Pickleball Paddle

The Inferno2 M1 is Luzz's Gen 4 flagship, and it is a genuine rework rather than a new paint job. The MPP2™ Power Core evens out the response between the middle of the face and the edges, so the paddle stops surprising you on the balls you do not middle. Around it sits a TPEE Dynamic Return Ring™ that loads on impact and snaps back fast, and over the top an Aero-Black™ surface that locks silicon carbide particles inside an integrated resin and carbon structure instead of spraying grit on the outside. That last point is the one that matters six months in: the bite is built into the face, not painted onto it.

How it plays

Elongated and 16mm at a swing weight of 121, so it is quick enough to keep up in a hands battle but still has the mass behind it to finish a point. The even core response is what you notice first. Off-centre drives that would flutter off a stiffer Gen 3 paddle still come off with pace and direction, which buys you a lot of confidence on the counter. The silicon carbide face grabs hard on topspin drives, spin-heavy serves, slices and speed-ups. This is a paddle for a player who is already generating their own pace and wants the shape and the spin to hold up under it.

Approval status

Luzz lists the Inferno2 M1 as UPA-A approved and eligible for the PPA and MLP pro divisions, the PPA Challenger Series, PPA Pro Qualifiers, PPA Tour Asia, and PPA and MLP Australia. UPA-A governs professional play. We have not been able to confirm this model's status with USA Pickleball, which is a separate body governing amateur and club play. Approval lists change, and Luzz model naming varies between listings (Pro 4 Inferno, Inferno2 M1, Inferno2 M2), so check the current UPA-A and USA Pickleball approved paddle lists for your exact model before sanctioned play.
