Luzz Cannon Pickleball Paddle - Black

The Cannon is Luzz's breakout power paddle: a thermoformed weapon in stealth black. A U-shaped carbon fibre matrix inside the core progressively layers kinetic energy, so smashes come off the face like cannonballs, while the T700 raw carbon friction surface bites the ball hard for spin. An 8mm PP honeycomb core with an enlarged foam layer keeps energy transfer fast, and a 3K carbon protection block guards the edges. Serious pop at a price that undercuts most Gen 3 power paddles.

Highlights

• T700 raw carbon friction surface: directional spin texture for greater ball bite
• U-shaped carbon fibre matrix core: progressive kinetic energy layering for explosive, lossless power
• 8mm PP honeycomb + enlarged foam core: strength, elasticity and fast energy transfer
• 3K carbon fibre protection block: protects the EVA edge from structural stress dents
• Anti-slip grip with cooling channels: dry, secure hold with shock-absorbing gel

How it plays

Elongated at 16.54 inches on a 5.52 inch handle, so the shape is built around reach and leverage rather than a wide, forgiving face. That is the trade: more length to cover the stretch volley, a narrower body to find. Luzz put the pop down to a U-shaped carbon matrix that layers kinetic energy progressively, their design claim rather than a bench test of ours. The T700 raw carbon friction face is the part you notice at the kitchen line: a rough surface holds the ball a fraction longer, so a topspin dink drops rather than floats and a slice sits down. The long handle leaves room for a two-handed backhand, and the paddle suits a player already generating their own pace.

Approval status

Luzz lists the Cannon as approved by UPA-A (re-approved 27 August 2025 following resubmission) and reports that it passed USA Pickleball certification on 25 June 2026. UPA-A governs professional play (PPA Tour and MLP); USA Pickleball is a separate body governing amateur and club play. Approval lists change, and Luzz model naming varies between listings (Cannon, Pro Cannon, Cannon2 M1), so check the current UPA-A and USA Pickleball approved paddle lists for your exact model before sanctioned play.
