THE OVAL TUBE FRAME

Round tubing rotates. You set a net up square, play for twenty minutes, and the centre has quietly twisted so the tape no longer faces you. OnCourt OffCourt patented their way out of it: the frame is oval, so the sections can only seat one way. It starts straight and stays straight, and they guarantee it will not twist.

FAST TO PUT UP

The centre poles sit on a moulded centre support rather than being held by tension alone, so the middle of the net finds its own position instead of needing fiddling. A patented rectangular centre strap holds a consistent height through the session, and a proprietary elastic bottom band takes the stress off the net itself, which is usually the first part of a portable system to fail.

REGULATION SIZE

22ft long and 34in high at the centre, which is official pickleball specification. Adjustment straps on the net edges set the tension.

PACKS AWAY PROPERLY

It stows in a zippered nylon bag with organising compartments and two outside pockets, each of which takes about six pickleballs. Powder-coated steel frame, one-year warranty.

INDOOR OR OUTDOOR, STORED INSIDE

Designed for both, but it is rust resistant rather than rust proof and the manufacturer is direct about that. Store the whole system indoors after each session, net, poles and bases. The carry bag is for storage as much as transport, and a system left outside is not covered by the warranty.
