MARK unMARKed 2026 in Australia: the numbers and who it suits

MARK’s 16mm foam elongated scored 98 out of 100 for firepower in Pickleball Effect’s lab, one of the three highest scores it has measured. The numbers, what the reviewers say, the honest feel, who it suits and the three colourways. A first look: we haven’t hit it yet.

The short answer: the MARK unMARKed 2026 is a 16mm foam elongated power paddle from MARK, a US brand. Pickleball Effect measured its firepower at 98 out of 100, which its tester calls “one of the three highest scores in my database”, with spin at 2,138 rpm. It suits aggressive players who already have a developed soft game, and it comes in three colourways: Cosmic Haze, Martian Mist and Solar Vapor. It is $299 at Pickld, and our first shipment is due late October. Nobody at Pickld has hit one yet, so every number and review below is someone else’s, and we name the source each time.

Who MARK is

MARK is a US brand started by a father and son after a paddle broke on them. MARK designs and quality-controls its paddles in the USA, and they are made in China.

The unMARKed is MARK’s experimental line (MARK calls it a “Tinkering and Trying” experiment), and the 2026 is the line’s foam-core paddle. Whatever MARK had in mind with the name, it suits the paddle: a plain black face, with all the colour on the rim.

Cosmic Haze. The name is printed black on black, so look closely to find it.

The numbers

Braydon Unsicker at Pickleball Effect tested the unMARKed 2026 in his lab and published the results on 26 August 2026. Here is what his unit recorded:

Pickleball Effect’s test Result
Firepower 98 out of 100, “one of the three highest scores in my database”
Power 57.8 mph (99th percentile)
Pop 37.4 mph (98th percentile)
Spin 2,138 rpm, rated very high
Grit durability Tier 1, with 96% of the grit retained in his test
Weight (his unit) 7.9 oz (about 224g)
Swing weight 113
Twist weight 6.61

These are measurements of one paddle in one lab, so read them as a strong guide rather than a promise for every unit. His paddle’s swing weight (113) sits inside MARK’s published range of 112 to 115, and its twist weight (6.61) came in above MARK’s 6.0 to 6.4.

He also put it on Pickleball Effect’s Best Power hot list as “Best for Maximum Offense”. If swing weight and twist weight are new to you, our guide to paddle weight explains what they change on court, and our grit guide explains what a Tier 1 result means.

What the reviewers say

The early reviews are loudest about power and spin:

  • Braydon Unsicker, Pickleball Effect, 26 August 2026: “The UnMarked 2026 is one of the biggest surprises of the year.”
  • Rallyhaus calls it “a top-tier power paddle capable of elite pace”, and on spin, “it makes for ridiculous spin”.
  • The Sweet Spot Pickleball, in its video of 25 August 2026: “a high-risk, high-reward beast”.

That last one is the fairest summary of the lot, and it is the reason for the next section.

The honest feel, and who it suits

Pickleball Effect describes the feel as stiff and hollow, and rates its control 4 out of 10: this is not a control paddle. On break-in, the reviewers disagree. Rallyhaus says it softens after a few sessions, while Pickleball Effect says it played well straight out of the box.

So this is a paddle for players who attack. If you drive, speed the ball up and finish at the kitchen, and you already have the hands to reset when it comes back hard, it gives you a lot to work with. Pickleball Effect’s advice on the other side is just as plain: “Pass if you don’t have a developed soft game.” If your dinks and third-shot drops are still coming together, a paddle with this much pop asks a lot of your hands.

Our line on it: bring a soft game. It brings the rest. And if you are shopping for pace in general, all our power pickleball paddles are in one place.

The specs

These are MARK’s published specs. There is one shape and one thickness, so all three colourways share them.

Shape Elongated
Length x width 16.5 x 7.5 in (about 419 x 191mm)
Core 16mm dual foam: EVA around the perimeter, EPP in the centre
Face Carbon (T700) and fibreglass, with a grit finish
Weight 7.8 to 8.0 oz (about 221 to 227g)
Swing weight 112 to 115
Twist weight 6.0 to 6.4
Handle length 5.75 in (about 146mm)
Grip circumference 4.125 in (about 105mm)

MARK calls the core VelosiCore and the grit finish VelosiGrit, and it describes the shape as elongated with a hybrid-like swing. If you are deciding on shape, our guide to paddle shapes walks through elongated, widebody and hybrid. For the thickness, 14mm vs 16mm covers what a 16mm core changes, and our explainer on foam cores covers the rest of the vocabulary.

The three colourways

All three are the same paddle: elongated, 16mm, with the same black grit face and the same white grip. The difference is the rim.

  • Cosmic Haze: the rim fades from mint at the top into violet, with a violet collar.
  • Martian Mist: mint into lime, with a lime collar.
  • Solar Vapor: mint into coral, with a coral collar.

Cosmic Haze, Martian Mist, Solar Vapor: three names that sound like smoke, so each one got its own plume.

Is it approved?

It is on USA Pickleball’s approved paddle list under brand “Mark” and model “2026”: entry 13496, status Pass, added on 21 July 2026. The list does not use the unMARKed name, but the entry matches it, with a 16mm EPP and EVA core. MARK lists the unMARKed 2026 as USA Pickleball approved.

Warranty

We’re an authorised MARK retailer, so MARK’s limited one-year warranty against manufacturer defects covers every unMARKed 2026 we sell. If something goes wrong with yours, the claim comes to us, Ben and Chris, and we take it up with MARK.

Getting one at Pickld

The MARK unMARKed 2026 is $299 at Pickld. A $100 deposit holds one, and the balance is charged on 31 October. Our first shipment is due late October.

Ben’s take, for now

On paper, the unMARKed 2026 is frankly irresponsible. We haven’t hit it yet. Everything on this page is the record so far: Pickleball Effect’s lab numbers, MARK’s specs and what the reviewers said, each with its source. When Chris and I have played it, I’ll add our own notes here, good or bad.

If you are not sure it suits your game, write to support@pickld.com.au and tell me what you play now. I’ll tell you straight whether this is a step up or a step too far.
