Spartus Spitfire Elongated 16mm Pickleball Paddle

The Spitfire Elongated is Spartus's answer to a question most brands dodge: how much paddle can you actually build for under two hundred dollars. It took Pickleball Pursuit's 2026 Paddle of the Year, and the spec sheet reads like a frame that costs half again as much. A 16mm Generation 4 Turbo Foam core, four layers of carbon in Spartus's QuadFiber layup, the PermaGritNano surface over the top, and a 116 swingweight in a 16.5 inch elongated shape. How it plays

The core is the story. Turbo Foam is Spartus's fourth-generation foam build, and the point of it is pace: an EPP paddle that pops like a thermoformed one, with a big trampoline off the middle and none of the dead plank feel foam paddles used to have at the tip.

Power paddles usually cost you the reset, and that is where the QuadFiber layup earns its place. Four carbon layers in a proprietary configuration hold the ball on the face longer, so drops and dinks land where you aimed them instead of springing off short. It is a power frame you can still play soft with.

Spin comes from PermaGritNano, the newest version of the surface Pickleball Effect rated the number one Tier 1 durable grit. Spartus quote 2,100+ RPM. The number matters less than what happens after ten weeks of club play, which is when most gritty faces go smooth and stop biting the ball.

The 116 swingweight is the surprise. Elongated paddles usually feel sluggish in a hands battle at the kitchen, and this one does not. You get the reach and leverage of a 16.5 inch frame with a swing closer to a hybrid. If you have wanted elongated reach but bounced off how slow they feel in a firefight, this is the one to try.
