The Bread & Butter Loco 2 is the follow-up to the original Loco, which won Paddle of the Year in The Dink's 2025 fan-voted awards. It keeps the part that won people over: the same 16mm dual-density foam core, EPP and EVA. It keeps the original's raw T700 carbon face over a layer of fibreglass, too. What is new is the finish: B&B's Space Dust Grit, which Bread & Butter says is built for serious spin that lasts. We carry it in two shapes, elongated and hybrid.

How it plays

Reviewers of the original Loco described a firm, crisp, lively paddle with big pop and plenty of spin; John Kew called it "one of the strongest options for a high-power, full-foam paddle". It is not a soft paddle. The pop takes a few sessions to tame on resets, and the Loco 2 keeps the same core, so expect the same character with a new grit on it.

The Elongated is the attacking option: 16.5 by 7.375 inches with a swing weight of 118 (B&B's figures), so it gives you reach and leverage from the baseline and plough-through on the drive. The Hybrid is 16.2 by 7.6 inches, with a swing weight of 111 and a higher twist weight of 6.7, so it is quicker in a hands battle and steadier on an off-centre hit; its handle is 5.3 inches against the elongated's 5.5. If you mostly play doubles at the kitchen line, take the hybrid. If you drive from the back or play singles, take the elongated.

Who it suits

Advanced players who already know they want a power paddle with spin and a firm, connected feel. It is not a first paddle: the power takes some control to harness, and if you want a soft, plush paddle this is not it.
