RPM Jade vs RPM Q2: Which to Buy (Australia 2026)

RPM Jade vs RPM Q2 is the most-asked head-to-head in the RPM range right now, and the short answer is that these two paddles are far closer than the price gap suggests, except in one number. The Jade is $374 and the Q2 Elongated is $357.50. They share a grip, they sit 3 grams apart on static weight, and their elongated builds swing within 2 points of each other. What actually separates them is the face material, the core construction, and the fact that the Jade offers a widebody that is dramatically more forgiving than anything in the Q2 Elongated listing.

Every number below came out of our own product records on 12 October 2026. Where we do not hold a figure, we have left it out rather than guessed it.

The one number that actually separates them

Twist weight is how much a paddle resists rotating when you catch the ball off centre, and it is the number that decides whether a mishit still comes back. The Q2 Elongated is 6.1. The Jade Elongated is 6.0 to 6.2, which is the same paddle in practice. But the Jade Widebody is 6.8 to 6.9, which is a 12 per cent jump, and it swings 104 to 107 against the Q2's 114.

So the honest framing is not Jade against Q2. It is that the Jade listing contains two quite different paddles, and only one of them is a genuine alternative to the Q2 Elongated.

The face: silicon carbide against carbon

The Jade uses SICmatrix silicon carbide. The Q2 uses RPM's CarbonBite carbon fibre. Both are built for spin, and we are not going to put a spin number on this page because we do not hold a measured figure for either paddle in our own records. What we will say is that silicon carbide is the newer approach to the same problem, which is that raw carbon grit wears smooth over a season of outdoor play. If grit durability is the thing that has annoyed you about previous paddles, that is the reason to look at the Jade rather than the price or the swing weight.

Who we would pick, honestly

  • Buy the RPM Q2 Elongated if you want it this week. It is in stock, it is $16.50 cheaper, and at 114 swing weight with 6.1 twist it is a known quantity: a power and spin paddle for a confident player who hits from the baseline and does not need the extra forgiveness.
  • Buy the RPM Jade in Elongated if the silicon carbide face is what you are after and you can wait for the shipment. Against the Q2 Elongated you are paying $16.50 for a different face and a slightly lighter swing, not for a different class of paddle.
  • Buy the Jade in Widebody if forgiveness matters more than reach. This is the genuinely different option on the page: 6.8 to 6.9 twist weight and a 104 to 107 swing. If you play at the kitchen more than the baseline, or you are honest about where you actually make contact, this is the better paddle of the three and it is not close.

Stock, and being upfront about it

The Jade is on pre-order with an estimated ship window of the third week of October. That is stated on its product page and we are repeating it here, because a comparison page that quietly ignores availability is not much use to someone deciding this week. The Q2 Elongated is held here and ships from Sydney.

The Q2 also comes in a Widebody at the same $357.50. We have deliberately not put it in the table above, because we do not yet hold swing weight and twist weight figures for it, and we would rather leave a row out than fill it with a number we cannot stand behind.
